  • HI William -

How exciting that you have gotten your stuff for sale on an e-Bay Store.. I am considering doing this, and just made my first listings recently. I wanted to ask you a question; once you establish a store, do your listing from your store still appear in the all the categories (like when you do a regular listing?) Do they show up in the same places + your store or if you have stuff listed in your store its now its own entity and doesnt appear in the regular categories of auctions and thigns sold? Does it cost less to list stuff, once you have a store set up? Any advice for good strategies would be much appreciated! Thankyou! -LX
    • well those are alot of questions... and the answers are complex ...

      the short answers are:
Listings in stores are a monthly fee of I think $16
then there is a listing fee that can be as Low as $.06 per item up to the sky is the limit deending on the features.
extra features may be added... but they add up.
auction listings are more. depending on ellements...
and I believe that ALL final sales are subject to a %10 final fee.
and of course the Pay pal fees... (You Must have a Merchant acount to use pay pal once a store is set up.)

as far as Searches go... at the bottom of Most Auction Searches, you will see a list of Instore Items that match your search... (No humbnail Pics)
one thing people seem ignorant of, is that if you run a "STORE SEARCH" (under advanced Searches) you are going to see a WHOLE LOT MORE than you see in Auctions... and the Pics (thumbnail) apear when you do this, where as the lists at the end of Auctions do not as far as I can tell.

I think one of the best stratagies is to have a few Items out in the Auctions catigories with links to direct people back to your store...
one of the BEST things I have found... if you Look at my listings you will see a SLIDE SHOW of my other store items... this feature offered by ANDALE (the People who give you free counters on your pages) offer this feature (the Slide show) for $6 a Month! WHAT A DEAL! if you are not sure what I mean... go and look at one of my listings and you will see it.

one of the features of Ebay is Ebay University... that teaches things in Lessons you choose at your own spead... and I have found LIVE HELP CHAT Very useful... even if some times the wait is Longer than I would like... and some times I feel like the techs are not reading what I write ... since they some times ask for the information I have already given...

I also have found the tribe net groups very useful...

I have just recently opened the esty thing as well ... looking forward to seeing how that goes...

thanks for the encourging word... and interest...
      William
