yes I was wondering the same thing a while ago. I found out that the best time was, which was the best time for ME!
Meaning I look a week ahead of scedule. And looked at when was the best time to go to the postoffice. Postoffice is closed on saterday afternoon and sunday.
If it was something that would be bought by younger people, I didnt post it after 22h.
    Things like that.
    Cant realy say.
But most people shop at work or home ( after diner). So between 17-20h is not so good ending I think. But if you ship worldwide, the its realy no say which time is better. So I addapt it to my scedule.
    Good luck.

I used to post all of my auctions on Saturday afternoon - but THEN, i read that the best time was to post so that your auctions end on Sunday (between 6-9) while people are watching the last of their weekend TV

i've only been doing that for a week - don't know that I notice any difference.

and what about all those folks that do their e-bay shopping while I work (hey -- that's when I used to do it when i had a real job)?

i'm really interested to hear what other folks have to say.

AND .. can i ask another question? do any of you ever offer a Buy It Now option? when i do (which is rarely) i always worry that i'm cheating myself by not allowing the auction to do what it could do.

I have also heard from many places that Sunday evening is the best time to end your auctions (although yes, it does depend somewhat on your audience of course). I've been doing Sunday evenings around 9 or 10pm (eastern) for the last few months and it seems to be going pretty well. I think it's also helpful to always end on the same day and around the same time each week, that way your regulars will more easily remeber when your auctions end cause it's always pretty much the same. Oh, and if I have large or more expensive works to sell I usally start them on a Thursday and do 10 day auctions cause then you get 2 weekends in there and it ends on sunday.

As far as the people that buy from work durring the day... I don't really worry about those people to much because it seems like having a computer/internet at home is becoming so common, people don't have to shop at work, or simply i'm guessing that the number of people that shop at home is a lot higher than people who shop at work. Plus there are plenty of sniping programs out there for those who can't be there when your auctions are ending.

And for the buy it now option... I don't really do that for art (cept for maybe reproduction or prints). For basically the same reason you said. Plus my auctions tend to vary greatly... I start all my ACEOs at 4.99 and some end at 4.99 or just go up a bit... and then other skyrocket up... so I really just can't pick a buy it now price.
